Tamaulipas prosecutors seize crypto mining equipment, investigate possible energy theft

Tamaulipas state prosecutors have seized computer equipment and specialized devices believed to be used for cryptocurrency mining in Camargo. The operation occurred at a property in the El Sauz neighborhood as part of an ongoing investigation.

During the judicial mandate execution, investigators found evidence suggesting the equipment was used for a cryptocurrency mining farm. Nine specialized computers, some bearing the BITMAIN and ANTMINER brands, along with a laptop, high-power supply units, network equipment, Ethernet cables, and ventilation systems, were confiscated.

The investigation has expanded to include potential charges of electricity theft. Authorities are examining the seized items to ascertain their functionality, origin, and any potential connection to other criminal activities. The Tamaulipas Attorney General's Office affirmed its commitment to investigating offenses using technological and scientific tools while adhering to legal processes.
