Tanjidor Music Welcomes Pramono-Rano at Bundaran HI for Jakarta Anniversary Celebration

Jakarta's 499th anniversary celebration culminated at Bundaran HI with a vibrant display of Betawi culture, marked by the distinctive sounds of Tanjidor music. Governor Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor Rano Karno were greeted by the traditional melodies and artists dressed in customary attire upon their arrival.

The celebration, themed "Towards 5 Centuries of Jakarta," featured a diverse program including Betawi art performances, concerts by popular Indonesian artists such as Padi Reborn and Mahalini, and engaging multimedia presentations. The event aimed to encapsulate the city's rich cultural heritage as it approaches its 500th anniversary.

Around 7:30 PM Western Indonesian Time, the Tanjidor music welcoming Pramono and Rano was played by a number of artists dressed in traditional attire.

To accommodate the festivities, which ran from Saturday afternoon into the evening, several roads in the city center, including Jalan MH Thamrin, were temporarily closed. Additionally, special promotional fares were offered for public transportation services like MRT, LRT, and Transjakarta on June 27-28, 2026, encouraging residents to utilize these options. The following day, Sunday, featured a "Jakarta Full of Colors" event with various cultural and entertainment activities.
