Taoyuan Districts Face 22-Hour Water Cut on August 18

Residents in 17 districts across Taoyuan City's Pingzhen and Yangmei areas are set to experience a 22-hour water outage starting August 18. The interruption, scheduled from 8 a.m. on August 18 to 6 a.m. on August 19, is expected to impact around 10,000 households.

The shutdown is necessary to facilitate pipeline replacement work by the Second Regional Management Office of the Taiwan Water Corporation. The Taoyuan City Government's Economic Development Bureau advises residents within the affected areas to store water at least six hours before the outage begins.

This measure aims to prevent a surge in water storage attempts just before the cutoff, which could lead to supply issues for users at the end of the distribution lines. The affected districts in Pingzhen include Songwu, Pingnan, Pingan, Pingzhen, Guangren, Xingu, Yongguang, Yong'an, Yongfeng, Jinxing, and Zhenxing. In Yangmei, the affected districts are Renmei, Guanghua, Siwei, Puxin, Ruiping, and Jinlong.

During the water suspension, the bureau urges the public to turn off the power supply to water pumps to prevent fires. If water supply is not restored after the scheduled time, residents are encouraged to contact the Taiwan Water Corporation's 24-hour toll-free service line at 1910 or the Economic Development Bureau for assistance.
