Taoyuan Farmers' Association launches smart vending machines for local produce

The Taoyuan City Farmers' Association is innovating agricultural sales with the introduction of 'Xin Xian Mei Ri' smart vending machines. These machines, supported by the Agriculture and Food Agency's Northern Region Branch, offer a convenient way for urban consumers to access high-quality local produce.

The Taoyuan City Farmers' Association is leading the transformation of local agriculture and bridging the gap between quality agricultural products and urban consumers.

The initial rollout features machines at the Airport MRT's A19 station and an RT-Mart hypermarket in Taoyuan. Customers can purchase a variety of items, including three unique ice cream flavors, vegetable, roselle, and sweet potato, made with organic ingredients and soy milk. The machines also dispense other popular processed agricultural snacks.

Through the unmanned service of smart vending machines, not only are the operating hours of traditional farmers' association supermarkets broken, but the reach can also be extended to MRT stations and large hypermarkets, accurately connecting with commuting and young consumer groups.

Association General Manager Chou Tsung-wei highlighted the use of smart technology to overcome traditional operating hour limitations and reach younger, commuting demographics. The machines boast interactive touch screens and multiple digital payment options, enhancing the shopping experience. This move aligns with the association's commitment to promoting organic farming and the "local production for local consumption" principle, offering a taste of Taoyuan's agricultural bounty in a modern, accessible format.

The biggest highlight of this smart retail core is the exclusive "Xin Xian Mei Ri Organic Ice Cream" developed nationwide. This series of ice creams breaks the traditional dessert framework, perfectly integrating the concept of healthy organic ingredients, carefully selecting high-quality local raw materials and organic soy milk, and launching three creative flavors: vegetable, roselle, and sweet potato.
