Tata Daewoo Mobility and Rideflux Join Forces on Autonomous Trucks

Tata Daewoo Mobility and Rideflux are moving their autonomous-truck partnership from testing toward commercialization, while also developing a Level 2+ driver-assistance system for production vehicles.

The companies signed a memorandum of understanding on the project at Tata Daewoo Mobility’s headquarters in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province, on the 3rd. Their joint Level 2+ system will use Tata Daewoo’s Maxen large-truck and Kusen medium-truck platforms.

Tata Daewoo will provide the vehicle platforms and control interfaces. Rideflux plans to supply autonomous-driving software designed for highway operation. The companies also intend to expand their existing Level 4 autonomous-truck cooperation from demonstration work into commercialization.

They will review the truck models to be used, vehicle conversion and mass-production options, and plans to improve the technology and validate a business model. Their stated goal is to establish a roadmap for mass-producing fully unmanned Level 4 trucks. They are also pursuing entry into global markets in cooperation with Tata Motors.
