Taxi Driver Dies, Teen Volleyball Player Critically Injured in Route 88 Crash

A tragic road accident on Route 88 near kilometer 55 in Argentina claimed the life of a 58-year-old taxi driver from Necochea. The collision involved the taxi, a Fiat Siena, and a refrigerated truck. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

Santiago Irigoyen, the taxi driver, died at the scene. His body was trapped in the wreckage and required extrication by firefighters. Four passengers were also in the taxi; one of them, a 15-year-old girl, sustained severe injuries.

The critically injured teenager, identified as a volleyball player for the club Once Unidos, was transported to the Hospital Interzonal General de Agudos in Mar del Plata.
