Taxi Overturns After Crashing Into Median Barrier in Kaohsiung

A taxi driver sustained injuries in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on Sunday morning following a single-vehicle accident. The taxi collided with a median barrier on Xin Ceng Road in Daliao District, causing the vehicle to flip onto its roof.

The 61-year-old driver, identified by the surname Wu, managed to exit the overturned vehicle on his own. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of abrasions and bruises but his injuries were not life-threatening. According to police reports, Wu's blood alcohol content was zero at the time of the incident.

Wu told the police that he lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid another car. The impact was significant enough to dislodge the taxi's front left wheel. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the crash, reviewing evidence and statements.
