Tay Ninh Detects 2,501 Violations of Smuggling, Trade Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods in Five Months

Tay Ninh province has reported a significant crackdown on illicit trade activities, uncovering a total of 2,501 violations concerning smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods within the first five months of 2026. This figure highlights the persistent challenges faced in maintaining fair trade practices in the region.

A notable operation occurred in May 2026 when provincial authorities successfully dismantled two operations involved in the large-scale production of fake fertilizers and popular brands of essential oils. These busts targeted sophisticated counterfeit rings aiming to profit from well-known trademarks.

As a consequence of these investigations, five individuals have been formally prosecuted for violating intellectual property rights. This legal action signals the authorities' commitment to prosecuting offenders and protecting legitimate businesses from the detrimental effects of counterfeit products.
