Teaser of the documentary Road to Everest released

The first glimpse of "Road to Everest," a documentary produced with a Nepali technical crew, has been unveiled. The film chronicles an ambitious journey from sea level to the summit of the world's highest peak, promising to explore the courage, mystery, and curiosity inherent in climbing Mount Everest.

Producers highlighted that the documentary delves into the profound impact of climate change on the mountain. It centers on the inspiring story of a person over 50 years old who is determined to climb Everest, challenging age, time, and personal limitations. The film aims to showcase not only the grandeur of Everest but also the significant risks involved, the crucial contributions of the Sherpa community, and the evolving mountain environment.

Directed by Nirmal Shrestha, the documentary features prominent climbers Phurba Tenjing Sherpa, who has summited Everest 18 times, and Nima Gyalzen Sherpa, who has reached the top 10 times and conquered all 14 of the world's highest peaks. The film, written by Santosh Acharya and Shrestha, is the result of two years of research, filming, and production. It will have its Nepal premiere in Kathmandu on August 22, followed by an international premiere in Hong Kong on September 13, with further screenings planned globally.

Narrated by Bhushan Dahal, "Road to Everest" is presented in both Nepali and English. Produced by the social organization Be Will Rise Foundation, the documentary, which runs over 50 minutes, is expected to boost Nepal's tourism promotion worldwide.
