TEC Liège-Verviers network faces major disruptions due to strike

The TEC Liège-Verviers public transport network is experiencing significant disruptions on Thursday due to a strike called by unions. Approximately one in three journeys have been canceled across the network, impacting passengers' daily commutes.

The depots are not blocked, and vehicles are able to leave normally. However, the disruptions stem from employees participating in the strike and not reporting for their shifts. "The disruptions are linked to the agents who are participating in the movement (of strike, editor's note) and are not resuming their service," stated Isabelle Tasset, spokesperson for the Liège-Verviers network.

While the Busway 2 service remains largely operational for now, and the tram is running with a reduced frequency of one service every two, other bus routes are heavily affected. The transport company recommends that travelers arrange alternative solutions for their journeys on Thursday and consult the website or app closer to their departure time. Canceled journeys are directly visible in the schedule search.

Further significant disruptions are anticipated on Friday as the strike is set to continue. The company has advised passengers to stay informed through their digital platforms.
