Techcross Water & Energy Accelerates Expansion in Advanced-Industry Water Treatment

Techcross Water & Energy is seeking a follow-up wastewater-treatment project at SK hynix’s semiconductor cluster in Yongin, continuing a run of expansion in advanced-industry infrastructure.

The environmental and energy engineering, procurement and construction company said it is pursuing a project worth about 30 billion won. It previously won a 50 billion won contract in June to build a wastewater-treatment system at the cluster. If the additional contract is finalized, Techcross will handle mechanical-equipment construction and overall commissioning.

The company is also carrying out water-treatment and environmental-facility projects worth a combined 150 billion won in the semiconductor-materials and display sectors. The projects form part of its broader push into facilities supporting high-tech manufacturing.

Techcross has taken on a technology-development role as well. In April, it was selected as the lead institution for a government project to localize the entire ultrapure-water production process. The initiative expands localization efforts beyond individual stages of existing ultrapure-water treatment.
