Tedesco blocks Fenerbahçe's transfer bid for winger Jonathan Rowe

Turkish club Fenerbahçe has reportedly set its sights on Bologna's English winger, Jonathan Rowe, as part of its transfer strategy for the new season. Fenerbahçe, which has already strengthened its squad with several new signings, is said to be pursuing the 23-year-old player.

However, the transfer appears to have hit a snag. According to Italian sports outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bologna has rejected Fenerbahçe's advances. The reason cited for the refusal is the stance of Bologna's manager, Domenico Tedesco, who previously managed Fenerbahçe. Tedesco is reportedly unwilling to let Rowe depart, as he believes it would further diminish the team's attacking capabilities, especially after recent matches where the team struggled to score.

Bologna's offensive struggles were highlighted in a recent 1-0 loss to Brighton, where the team's playmaking relied heavily on central attacks, with wing play proving ineffective. Rowe, who joined Bologna last summer from Marseille for a reported €17 million, has a contract with the Italian club until June 30, 2029.

During his tenure at Bologna, the English winger has made 43 appearances, contributing 8 goals and 5 assists. His potential departure is seen by Tedesco as a significant blow to the team's offensive options, leading him to block the move despite Fenerbahçe's interest.
