Teen Held for School Attack Also Investigated for Own Murder Plot

A 16-year-old already in custody for alleged involvement in the fatal school attack in Fagersta is now facing a new investigation for preparing to commit murder. Police have confirmed to Ekot that the teen is being investigated in a separate case.

The teenager was detained earlier this week on suspicion of aiding and abetting murder and attempted murder in connection with the deadly assault on a school in Fagersta. However, authorities state the 16-year-old was not at the scene of that attack and has no affiliation with the Fagersta school itself. Reports suggest the individual resides in the Stockholm area and was apprehended days after the Fagersta incident.

According to information obtained by Aftonbladet and TV4 Nyheterna, the 16-year-old had contact with Liam Nebel, who is suspected of carrying out the Fagersta attack. The 16-year-old allegedly expressed a desire to carry out an attack on a school in the Stockholm area.

Police have now confirmed to Ekot that the youth is under investigation for preparing murder. The alleged crime is said to have occurred between August 19 and 21 in the Nacka municipality, just days before the Fagersta school shooting. Court documents reviewed by Ekot do not provide specific details about these alleged murder plans, only confirming the investigation into preparation for murder.

The Fagersta school attack on August 21 resulted in the death of a 17-year-old girl, with three other students sustaining injuries. The 16-year-old's lawyer declined to comment on the new allegations.
