Teenager Drives Electric Wheelchair with Near 3 Per Mille Alcohol Level, Crashes

A bizarre incident in Burgebrach, Bavaria, has led to a drunk driving investigation involving an unlikely vehicle: an electric wheelchair. Police reported that a 17-year-old was found operating the mobility device with a blood alcohol level of 2.92 per mille.

The teenager's joyride ended when he crashed the electric wheelchair into a park bench near the village pond, causing damage to the device. Following the incident, the youth underwent an alcohol test, which confirmed the extremely high blood alcohol content.

Adding another layer to the unusual event, police discovered that the 72-year-old owner of the electric wheelchair was also heavily intoxicated and had been using the device. Authorities have initiated a separate investigation against the senior citizen for drunk driving.
