Teenager stabbed during fight at Melbourne shopping centre

Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred during a fight among youths at Melbourne's Highpoint Shopping Centre. The incident took place on Wednesday evening, shortly after 7 p.m., near the cinema and dining areas of the complex in Maribyrnong.

Officers arrived at the scene to find a teenage boy suffering from a laceration to his lower back. He was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The altercation reportedly involved a group of youths, and the rest of the group fled the scene before police could arrive.

The stabbing occurred during the busy dinnertime rush, with shoppers and diners gathering outside the center's doors as law enforcement secured the area. At this stage, no arrests have been made.
