Temuco: Man arrested for allegedly throwing boiling water at partner

Authorities in Temuco, Chile, have arrested a man suspected of throwing boiling water at his partner in an act being investigated as attempted femicide. The incident took place in the commune of Vilcún.

Temuco Mayor Roberto Neira highlighted the successful apprehension, stating, "Here we see how joint work between the municipality and the police allows us to move forward in the detention of people who represent a high risk to the community." He emphasized the gravity of the situation, describing it as a "very serious crime of gender violence."

The victim sustained various injuries and is currently hospitalized at the Regional Hospital. The municipality has pledged its continued active collaboration to ensure such cases do not go unpunished.
