Tetris says it was not involved in White House “Build the Wall” game

The White House has launched an online arcade featuring 1980s-style games that promote several priorities of President Donald Trump, including border enforcement, deportation and children’s investment accounts.

The administration announced the site on Thursday with the message: “Can’t stop winning. Build the wall. Deport. Fill a Trump Account.” It includes five retro-style games, with a sixth marked as coming soon.

In “Build the Wall,” players face what the game calls a “zombie border siege.” They stack Tetris-style bricks to protect the border from the “coming horde.” When the bricks reach the top, the screen displays “border breached.” Another game, “Rio Run,” asks players to move a white figure along the river and block and deport figures that appear to represent immigrants.

The other games reflect additional administration themes. Players can catch money to fill Trump Accounts, sort school lunches under the slogan “Make America Healthy Again,” and guide a bald eagle through obstacles along the National Mall.

Tetris said it had no role in creating “Build the Wall.” The company said it takes copyright infringement “very seriously.” In a statement posted on Instagram, it added: “At Tetris we believe in the power of connection and bringing people together, not dividing them. To our fans everywhere: we love you, we see you, and we’re grateful to have you in our community.”
