Texas tourism gets $160 million boost with new Fort Worth complex

Texas' historic Fort Worth Stockyards is set to receive a significant boost to its tourism infrastructure with a new $160 million hotel and entertainment complex. Announced by Delightful Development Co. and Woodbine Development Co., the project aims to enhance the district's already substantial appeal, which draws over ten million visitors each year.

The development will feature two luxury hotels, offering a combined 225 rooms and suites, all connected by a shared underground parking facility. Beyond accommodations, the complex will include 30,000 square feet of green spaces and recreational areas, alongside new facilities for retail, meetings, and conventions. Developers believe the prime location at the entrance of the Historic District will further solidify Fort Worth Stockyards as a premier destination.

This investment comes shortly after the cancellation of a much larger $1 billion expansion plan, which had aimed to double the district's size. Stockyards Heritage Development Company cited a review of market conditions and long-term investment priorities for shelving that ambitious project. However, the $160 million complex will move forward as planned, signaling continued confidence in the Stockyards' tourism potential.

In addition to the new complex, other revitalization efforts are underway. A renovation exceeding $30 million is in progress for the historic Stockyards Hotel and H3 Ranch restaurant, with the hotel slated for a early 2027 reopening. These upgrades aim to modernize facilities while preserving the heritage that defines this iconic Texas landmark.
