Texts Show Teen Murder Victim Had Abortion, Singer D4vd Accused of Abuse

Text messages shown in a Los Angeles court suggest that 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who is at the center of a murder case involving singer D4vd, had undergone a pregnancy and abortion. Prosecutors contend that David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, killed Celeste after she threatened to reveal his alleged abuse of a minor and damage his career. Burke has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder and sexual abuse.

The exchanges, presented as evidence, occurred when Celeste was 13 and Burke was 19. In one message from June 2024, Celeste asked, "What [if] the first abortion didn't work?" She later texted, "neither of us are capable of watching and taking care of the baby. it's for the best no?" Burke reportedly inquired about paternity, to which Celeste responded, "of course its yours David."

Further messages from June 2024 included Burke writing, "Let's let this abortion be the last one til we have the real one…" Prosecutors also presented iCloud data showing communications between Burke and Celeste dating back to August 2022, when she was 11 and he was 17. Celeste's body was found in Burke's Tesla in September 2025, a day after her 15th birthday. Burke, known for TikTok hits like "Romantic Homicide," faces multiple charges, including murder and continuous sexual abuse of a child.
