“Thank You, Firefighters”: HiteJinro Brings Its Appreciation Snack Truck to Fire Stations

HiteJinro has resumed its “Appreciation Snack Truck” program for firefighters, bringing food and gifts to stations that have responded to national disasters.

The second-half schedule began at Gwangjin Fire Station in Seoul on Sept. 2. Over September and October, the truck will visit five stations in total: Gwangjin, Daegu Gangseo, Uiseong in North Gyeongsang Province, Gijang in Busan and Hamyang in South Gyeongsang Province. The stations have responded to wildfires, major accidents, droughts, floods and other disasters.

HiteJinro began running the program annually in 2020, after signing a 2018 agreement with the National Fire Agency on improving conditions for firefighters’ families and raising public safety awareness. Including the first half of this year, the company plans to visit 17 fire stations.

The food offered at the stations includes steak, salad, cup fruit, takoyaki, cookies and drinks. Firefighters can also receive gifts such as brass cups, Terra and Son Heung-min cooling bags, and toad couple cup sets.

The company also supports families of firefighters who died in the line of duty by providing emergency living expenses, litigation costs related to recognition of their deaths and healing days for bereaved families. A HiteJinro representative said, “We prepared the second-half schedule to give even a little strength to firefighters who have worked hard in heat waves and at disaster sites. We will continue activities that express our gratitude for the efforts of firefighters who devote themselves to public safety.”
