The Bordeaux-Blues thrash Gençlerbirliği 5-0 in Hüseyin Çimşir’s first match

Trabzonspor began the Hüseyin Çimşir era in emphatic fashion, routing Gençlerbirliği 5-0 in the Süper Lig after Fatih Tekke’s departure. The Bordeaux-Blues took control early and never allowed the match to become a contest.

Paul Onuachu opened the scoring in the fifth minute, ending his quiet spell in front of goal. Trabzonspor doubled their lead in the 14th minute after referee Çağdaş Altay consulted VAR and awarded a penalty. Onuachu handed the spot-kick to Salah, who converted to make it 2-0.

Onuachu then struck again in the 22nd minute to put Trabzonspor three goals ahead. The striker’s night ended in the 43rd minute, however, when an injury forced him to leave the field for Dju.

Trabzonspor continued to find openings after the break. Aral’s shot hit the post in the 33rd minute, while Muçi scored in the 59th minute. Dju, the new signing who had replaced the injured Onuachu, scored in the 78th minute to register his first league goal and complete the 5-0 victory.
