‘The Devil’s Plan X’ producer could not calculate it all: Alliances held even after the individual game began

The producers of Wavve’s “The Devil’s Plan X” had carefully designed the game, but even they could not predict how the contestants would move within it.

The latest season brought together players from earlier editions and new faces for an extended survival competition. It began as a team game and ended with individual play, a structure intended to change the balance among the contestants.

Instead, the bonds formed inside the teams proved stronger than expected. Even when the competition shifted to the individual stage, the alliances did not break apart as the producers had anticipated.

The season also produced an unexpected winner. Kang Ji-hoo, who had already been eliminated, returned to the competition and ultimately claimed the championship. The result left the production team acknowledging that survival games can move beyond the calculations built into their rules.
