"The Devil Wears Prada 2" release date announced for Disney Plus

Fans eagerly awaiting the sequel to "The Devil Wears Prada" can mark their calendars, as the film is slated for a streaming release on Disney Plus in Mexico on July 29, 2026.

The highly anticipated follow-up brings back the beloved characters from the 2006 original. Meryl Streep reprises her iconic role as formidable fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly, while Anne Hathaway returns as the ambitious Andy Sachs. Emily Blunt is back as the sharp Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci reprises his role as the stylish Nigel Kipling.

Set two decades after the first film, the sequel places Miranda Priestly in a new New York setting, facing the uncertainties and rapid innovations of the modern editorial world. Emily Charlton has become a powerful figure in the luxury industry, setting the stage for renewed rivalry with Andy Sachs, who is also embarking on a new professional chapter. Both are navigating their careers while Miranda actively resists retirement.

The sequel also introduces new cast members, including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, and Lucy Liu, who are expected to expand the story's universe. Produced by 20th Century Studios, the film is based on Lauren Weisberger's bestseller.
