The endless journey of Hazajáró reaches Csíksomlyó + gallery

The Hazajáró Honismereti és Turista Egyesület (Hazajáró Heritage and Tourist Association) has reached Csíksomlyó, marking a symbolic conclusion to their pilgrimage and program, which is set to end by 2026. This journey, focused on heritage and tourism, has been characterized not by kilometers traveled, but by the faces, prayers, songs, and reunions experienced along the way.

The pilgrimage culminated in a significant gathering at Csíksomlyó, where participants from diverse regions such as Transylvania, Felvidék (Upper Hungary), and Hungary joined together. The journey began early in the morning, with participants converging from Gyimesközéplok and Gyimesfelsőlok, moving towards Csíksomlyó. As they progressed through various settlements, more people joined, creating a growing sense of community.

This year the Hazajáró program will end, but our endless journey will continue together within the Hazajáró Egyesület framework.

At the Somlyó saddle, the pilgrims became part of a crowd numbering in the hundreds of thousands for the Pentecost Mass. Following the mass, the formal closing of the Hazajáró pilgrimage took place in the Mária Garden. The closing blessing was given by Brother Csaba Böjte, who had also blessed the association when it began in Csobánka.

Moys Zoltán, the director of Hazajáró, described the group as a "community of love." He explained that while they are a television crew producing a show, it has always been more than just a job; it has been a mission. Over fifteen years, a strong bond of camaraderie and friendship has formed among the team members, who have dedicated their hearts and souls to the project. This close-knit group, along with the broader Hazajáró community, continues their journey together.
