This event, taking place at the end of August, is one of the largest model train exhibitions in regional Australia and aims to draw thousands of attendees.

Peter Tonks, a member of the Georges River Model Railways, emphasized the importance of engaging younger people with the hobby. "We're hoping to match that, if not more, because one of the aims is to promote to younger people the hobby because it's a good thing to learn many different types of skills," he stated. The exhibition will feature over fifty meticulously crafted model railway layouts, with the impressive 45-meter long Illawarra Model Railway layout anticipated to be a major draw.

The hobby is described by enthusiasts like Dave Pallas as a passion that evolves over time. "As you mature into the hobby, you get more specialised in what you want to model and what you want to run and the era you want to work in," he explained. Pallas also highlighted the social aspect, noting that over the years, he has "met a lot of very interesting people, very friendly people, very helpful people." The event welcomes all participants, fostering a community spirit among model railroaders.
