“They would not accept the timeout without checking the umpire, and we lost there,” KIA manager says after pitch-clock violation

“That’s where we lost,” KIA Tigers manager Lee Beom-ho said while discussing a disputed pitch-clock violation at a decisive point in the seventh inning.

Lee met reporters at Changwon NC Park on Sept. 3 to explain his protest over the incident in KIA’s 2-1 loss to NC the previous day.

KIA had runners on second and third with no outs after Na Sung-beom drew a walk and Kim Sun-bin hit a double. The manager said the ruling was difficult to accept because the timeout was not granted without the umpire being checked.
