Third teenager charged after 15-year-old Melbourne boy allegedly left to die from stab wounds

A third teenager has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy found outside a Melbourne hospital. Police arrested a 14-year-old from Victoria’s Hume area on Friday evening, who is scheduled to appear before a children’s court.

The victim, identified as Mickleham teenager Darweish Mohamed, was discovered critically wounded outside Craigieburn community hospital around 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday. A hospital staff member attempted CPR but could not save him. He died at the scene.

Authorities had previously arrested two individuals early Thursday in the nearby suburb of Pascoe Vale. A 16-year-old boy from Goulburn Valley was charged with murder and remanded in custody. A 20-year-old man from Beveridge faces charges of criminal damage by fire.

Later on Friday, a second murder charge was laid against a 15-year-old boy from the Craigieburn area, who will also face a children’s court. Additionally, a 15-year-old girl from Fawkner has been charged with affray and theft of a motor vehicle.

A burnt-out car discovered at Oaklands Junction has been linked to the stabbing. Meanwhile, loved ones of Darweish have launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral expenses, which had raised over $54,000 towards a $60,000 goal by Saturday morning. Family friend Mohamed Bakhit stated, “No family should ever have to go through a loss like this.” The education department confirmed it would provide support to affected school communities, with a spokesperson calling the death a tragedy.
