Third UAE Aid Plane Arrives in Kathmandu to Help Nepal Flood Victims

A third UAE relief plane has arrived in Kathmandu carrying a search and rescue team, as the United Arab Emirates expands its response to floods and landslides in Nepal.

The disasters have left dozens of people dead, injured or missing and caused extensive damage across affected areas. The latest flight forms part of the UAE’s ongoing effort to provide urgent humanitarian assistance.

Nepalese and Emirati officials received the plane, including Nepal’s Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Mahabir Pun; Joint Secretary Ram Kaji Khadka of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs; UAE Ambassador to Nepal Abdullah Al Shamsi; and Dr Ahmed Al Mansouri, director of the UAE Aid Agency vice chairman’s office.

Al Shamsi said the flight implements directives from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to allocate $10 million to support people affected by the floods. He said the relief effort reflects the UAE’s role in responding to humanitarian emergencies.
