Thompson arrives in Vukovar, Pavliček hosts him before concert: 'Tonight's show has special meaning'

Vukovar, Croatia – Singer Marko Perković Thompson has arrived in Vukovar for a concert that Mayor Marijan Pavliček described as carrying a significant message of unity and hope for the future.

Pavliček met with Thompson and his team, highlighting that the event is expected to draw thousands of visitors from across Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Croatian diaspora. He noted that Vukovar, a city symbolizing sacrifice and resilience, is the ideal place to build a future based on national unity.

The concert also carries a humanitarian dimension. Funds raised, after covering organizational costs, will be directed towards the Salesian student dormitory in Zagreb and Vukovar's campaign to build the "12 Croatian Guardsmen Stadium." Pavliček stressed that the gathering demonstrates how unity, faith, and love for Croatia can unite people for noble causes.

During their meeting, Pavliček presented Thompson with a special jersey from HNK Vukovar 1991, bearing the inscription "29.8. MPT PILGRIM."
