Three arrested for murder at swimming area near Gothenburg

Police have arrested three men in their early 20s on suspicion of murder after a 45-year-old man died from injuries sustained at a public swimming area near Gothenburg. The incident occurred Saturday evening at Kindbobadet in Rådasjön, Härryda municipality.

The victim, a resident of Härryda municipality, was at the swimming spot with family members when he was attacked. He was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Police apprehended two men from Gothenburg and one from Härryda municipality around midnight on Sunday. All three suspects were born in 2006 and 2007.

Prosecutor Fredrik Berglund stated that the evidence is strong, with information from witnesses and other sources leading to the identification and arrest of the three suspects. While the motive remains unclear, Berglund indicated that the attack was not entirely random, as the deceased and one of the arrested individuals knew each other prior to the incident.

This incident follows another fatal attack at a different swimming area, Hawaii in Stenungsund, just days earlier. In that case, a 21-year-old man was arrested, along with a 19-year-old and an 18-year-old, on suspicion of a knife murder. Police believe that incident involved a conflict between two groups.
