Three arrested for posing as DB officers in Netrokona robbery

Police in Netrokona's Durgapur upazila arrested three individuals suspected of robbing a businessman's home. The perpetrators allegedly impersonated Detective Branch (DB) officers to gain entry. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning at the residence of Abdul Wadud Mia in Lakshmipur village.

The arrested men, identified as Raj Kumar, Abdul Hamid, and Shahin Alam, were apprehended within four hours of the robbery. Police tracked one of the stolen mobile phones, which remained active, leading to their detention in the neighboring Kalmakanda upazila. Authorities also recovered some of the stolen cash and clothing.

During the robbery, six to seven men reportedly entered Wadud Mia's house, tied up the family, and fled with approximately Tk 3 lakh in cash, five bhori of gold jewelry, mobile phones, and other valuables. The alleged mastermind, Md Sayedur Rahman Ramim, who is Wadud Mia's nephew, and other accomplices remain at large.

Interrogation of the detained suspects revealed that Ramim allegedly paid each of them Tk 5,000 to participate in the crime. Police are continuing their raids to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.
