Three children found dead in Anambra native doctor’s residence

A shocking incident has left the community of Umuoduba Village in Anambra State reeling after three children were discovered dead at the residence of a local native doctor, known as “Ezenwanyi.” The discovery was made in the early hours of Wednesday, plunging the area into distress and confusion.

Authorities found a fourth child unconscious alongside the deceased. This child was immediately rushed to a hospital and is currently in critical condition. The ages of the children are believed to be between six and 15 years old. Residents reported that all four children were found within the woman's residential compound, which also houses livestock.

The native doctor has been taken into custody by operatives from the Ogidi Divisional Police Headquarters, working in collaboration with community leaders. The investigation aims to determine how the children ended up at the premises and the circumstances leading to their deaths.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the incident. Police responded to a distress call and found the children. Medical personnel confirmed three deaths, while the fourth child remains hospitalized. The State Criminal Investigation Department has assumed control of the case for a thorough investigation.
