Three dead, 15 injured in three-vehicle crash on West Java highway

A serious road accident involving three vehicles on the Pantura highway in Indramayu, West Java, resulted in three fatalities and fifteen injuries on Sunday afternoon. The collision occurred in the Lohbener sub-district and involved a Daihatsu Grand Max pickup truck, a Hino Wing Box truck, and a Hino flatbed truck. According to the Indramayu Police's traffic unit, the Daihatsu Grand Max pickup, carrying 17 passengers, was traveling from Jakarta to Cirebon. Witnesses reported that the pickup stopped in the right lane and was struck from behind by the Hino Wing Box truck. The impact pushed the pickup forward, causing it to collide with a Hino flatbed truck traveling in the opposite direction. As a result of the collision, three passengers in the pickup truck were killed. Additionally, 15 other individuals sustained injuries, with 11 suffering minor wounds and four experiencing severe injuries. The estimated material damage from the accident is around Rp50 million. Police are currently investigating the exact cause of the crash.
