Three Dead After Truck Loses Control, Overturns in Quang Tri, Vietnam

A severe traffic accident on National Highway 9 in Vietnam's Quang Tri province has resulted in three fatalities, according to provincial police. The incident occurred on July 8, 2026.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, which involved a truck carrying three people. The vehicle was traveling on National Highway 9, heading from Khe Sanh towards Cam Lo, when it reportedly lost control near Km56+300 in Dakrong commune. The truck collided with a guardrail on the right side of the road before overturning.

First responders arrived at the scene to manage the aftermath. The impact with the guardrail significantly deformed the front of the truck. Inside the cabin, authorities discovered two deceased individuals: H.T.H., a 50-year-old woman from Hung Yen province, and L.V.Q., a 25-year-old man from Quang Ninh province. A third victim, T.V.H., a 55-year-old man also from Hung Yen province, was critically injured and transported for emergency medical treatment. Despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Investigators are continuing to examine the accident site to determine the precise sequence of events leading to the fatal crash. The truck's license plate was identified as 89C-031.xx.
