Three Dead, Several Injured in Highway Collision in Çankırı

A tragic head-on collision on the Çankırı-Kızılırmak highway has claimed three lives and left several others injured. The accident occurred near Bozkır village when a car, driven by 43-year-old İzzet Gümüşbuğa, collided with a light commercial vehicle operated by 75-year-old Remzi Akdemir.

Emergency services, including health personnel, gendarmerie, and firefighters, were dispatched to the scene. İzzet Gümüşbuğa and a 12-year-old passenger in his car, Hasan Salih Gümüşbuğa, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the light commercial vehicle, Remzi Akdemir, was among the injured and was transported to Çankırı State Hospital.

Despite receiving medical attention, Remzi Akdemir succumbed to his injuries. Other passengers from the car, identified as Çiğdem (30), Abdullah (5), Esma Betül (9), and Muhammet Emir Gümüşbuğa (5), were also hospitalized. Reports indicate that the conditions of Abdullah and Esma Betül Gümüşbuğa are severe. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
