Three Family Members Vanish in Jalisco; Drug Sales Suspected

Authorities in Jalisco, Mexico, are actively searching for three men from the same family who vanished in Teocaltiche during June. The state prosecutor's office has yet to locate the missing individuals, who were identified as José Manuel Gómez Núñez, Érick Arturo Gómez Aguilera, and Antonio de Jesús Silvestre Gómez.

According to Blanca Trujillo, the special deputy prosecutor for missing persons, one of the men disappeared in early June after leaving his home on a motorcycle. Five days later, the other two family members were abducted by armed individuals. Searches of three residences have been conducted without success in finding the missing men.

The primary line of investigation currently points towards drug trafficking activities. Trujillo indicated that at least one of the victims was allegedly involved in this illicit trade, suggesting a possible motive for their disappearance.

This case highlights the ongoing challenges with violence and disappearances in the region. The prosecutor's office continues its efforts to ascertain the whereabouts of the Gómez family members and bring those responsible to justice.
