Three identified after fatal police shootout in Mandeville, Jamaica

Police in Mandeville, Jamaica, have identified the three individuals who died following an alleged shootout with law enforcement on Caledonia Road. The deceased have been named as Lester Morris, Travis Baker, and Sutania Boothe, also known as “Chun Chun.” The confrontation resulted in the seizure of two firearms by the police.

The incident unfolded around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday when police received reports of a robbery spree. Officers intercepted a getaway vehicle near Horseshoe Curve. According to a high-ranking police source, the occupants of the vehicle initiated the gunfire, firing upon the police, who returned fire. This exchange led to a prolonged standoff and a running gun battle.

Boothe, Morris, and Baker were reportedly removed from the intercepted vehicle and transported to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival. The location of the incident is noted to be in the vicinity of a previous double murder that occurred the previous Saturday, where two women were fatally shot in a taxi.
