Three linked to aggravated kidnapping and human trafficking face trial

A judge has ordered three individuals, two men and one woman, to stand trial for aggravated kidnapping, human trafficking, and organized crime, in connection with the alleged detention of a foreign national in Mexico. The court has imposed pretrial detention as a precautionary measure, setting a six-month period for the closure of the complementary investigation.

The federal prosecutor's office, through its Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Human Rights (FEMDH), presented evidence indicating that the investigation began in July following a report of the victim's circumstances. The victim was reportedly transferred and housed within Mexican territory with the intention of being trafficked to the United States. However, the victim was subsequently deprived of their liberty, and their family received demands for ransom.

Authorities identified several individuals believed to be involved through interviews and investigative actions conducted in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC). A control judge at the Federal Criminal Justice Center in Chihuahua, based in Ciudad Juárez, issued arrest and search warrants. These were executed by personnel from the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM), leading to the apprehension of Luis "N", Aida "N", and Ramón "N", who are considered the probable perpetrators.

The FGR, via the FEMDH and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for the Investigation of Crimes related to Migrants and Refugees (FEIDPMR), reiterated its commitment to prosecuting crimes that violate the rights of migrants and refugees within the country. The victim in this case successfully escaped their captors.
