Three-year-old boy rescued from locked car in Wels

Emergency services in Wels, Austria, successfully rescued a three-year-old boy who became trapped inside a locked car on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred when the boy's sister, upon exiting the vehicle, inadvertently locked the doors from the outside.

The mother's handbag, containing the car keys, was left on the back seat, rendering the car inaccessible. After approximately 15 minutes inside the increasingly hot vehicle, the child began to show signs of distress, sweating heavily. Recognizing the potential danger, paramedics from the Red Cross made the decision to intervene.

With the mother's consent, the rescue team broke a car window to gain access to the child. Following his liberation from the car, the young boy received immediate first aid from the attending paramedics. The swift actions of the Red Cross are credited with preventing a more serious outcome for the child.
