Thunderstorms, Extreme Heat Grip Parts of Saudi Arabia Amid Dust and Winds

Parts of Saudi Arabia are facing contrasting weather conditions, with thunderstorms expected in the southwest while extreme heat grips other areas. The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued forecasts indicating a continuation of these weather patterns.

Thunderstorms are predicted for the southwestern highlands, specifically in Abha and Al-Baha. Meanwhile, dust and strong winds are anticipated in several major cities, including Jeddah, Jazan, Riyadh, Buraidah, Arar, and Sakaka. The NCM also forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy skies in Madinah, and partly cloudy conditions in Makkah, Hail, Dammam, and Najran.

The Kingdom is also contending with a significant heatwave. The Eastern Province, along with parts of the Riyadh, Madinah, and Makkah regions, will experience high temperatures. Riyadh is forecast to reach 45°C, Makkah 44°C, Madinah 46°C, Jeddah 40°C, and Dammam 45°C. Other cities like Tabuk and Najran expect highs of 41°C, while Buraidah could reach 46°C.
