Thuringia lottery funds support over 170 non-profit projects

In the first half of 2026, approximately 170 non-profit organizations and initiatives across Thuringia benefited from lottery funding, receiving over 700,000 euros. These funds, derived from the surplus of the Thuringian state lottery, were allocated to support a wide range of charitable projects.

The allocated funds were used to bolster volunteer engagement in various sectors, including culture, the preservation of local heritage and customs, sports, and civil protection and disaster relief efforts. The lottery proceeds enabled organizations to make essential purchases, organize events, and implement crucial projects within their communities.

"With these funds, we not only strengthen individual projects but also the social infrastructure of our free state," stated Head of the State Chancellery Stefan Gruhner. The distribution of these funds spanned all regions of Thuringia, underscoring a commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives throughout the state.

Eligible recipients for these grants are non-profit entities. The approved funds are strictly earmarked, meaning they must be used exclusively for the specific projects for which they were awarded, ensuring that the lottery's charitable contributions directly support community development and volunteer efforts.
