Tigre's young goalkeeper Leguizamón joins Argentina's Copa América squad as sparring partner

Máximo Leguizamón, an 18-year-old goalkeeper from Tigre, is set to join the Argentine national team as a sparring partner for the Copa América. The young talent, born in Matheu, has been with Tigre since he was eight years old, progressing through the club's youth ranks to become a key prospect.

His role will involve training alongside Argentina's senior goalkeepers Emiliano "Dibu" Martínez, Gerónimo Rulli, and Juan Musso. This experience at the highest level of international football is seen as a significant step in his development. Leguizamón has already established himself as the starting goalkeeper for Tigre's reserve team and has trained with the professional squad.

Leguizamón's potential has also been recognized by Argentina's youth national teams, having been called up for the U17 and U20 squads. A notable moment in his career was scoring an unusual goal from his own penalty area to the opponent's goal during a U20 match in 2024, showcasing his powerful left foot.

His recent signing of a professional contract with Tigre until 2029 underscores the club's confidence in his abilities and its commitment to developing young talent.
