Tigress "Sola" Fights for Life After Crushing Injury by Mother; Surgery Considered

A young tigress, known as "Sola," is in critical condition and continues to fight for her life after a severe injury inflicted by her mother. The cub suffered a fractured skull and jaw when she was crushed by her mother at the Ecopark Matamoros. After surviving the initial 72 hours, "Sola" now faces a new challenge with low oxygen saturation and blood pressure, requiring her return to an oxygen chamber and mask support.

Specialists are evaluating the possibility of inducing general anesthesia for a high-risk surgery. This procedure is being considered because the fracture may be causing increased pressure on the tigress's brain. If a bone fragment is found to be exerting pressure, surgeons may need to remove it. The team acknowledges the significant risks involved, especially given "Sola's" current fragile state, but believes it could be her only chance for stabilization.

Jesús Elías Ibarra Rodríguez, president of Conibio Global, stated that the cub is receiving care at the Villarreal Garza Hospital in Nuevo León. He appealed to the public on social media for continued prayers and positive energy for "Sola's" recovery, emphasizing her ongoing struggle.
