Tinubu Appoints Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart SA on N’Assembly Matters - House of Reps

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart as his new Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters, focusing on the House of Representatives. The 40-year-old academic and policy expert replaces Hon. Ibrahim Olanrewaju, who resigned to contest an elective position.

Olanrewaju-Smart brings a wealth of experience to the role, holding a PhD in Educational Management from Lead City University and a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University. He is also an Edward Mason Fellow in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and a LEAPS Fellow at MIT, with a professional diploma from the London School of Public Relations. His expertise extends to AI and Civic Tech, having been a Policy Fellow at Quantum Alliance AI in the USA.

His career has seen him deeply involved in legislative affairs, serving as a Research and Media Assistant to House leaders and later as Special Adviser, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives. He transitioned to the presidency in October 2023 as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Intergovernmental Affairs.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that Olanrewaju-Smart's experience and intellect will be instrumental in enhancing legislative coordination and fostering stronger relations between the Presidency, government agencies, and the House of Representatives. The appointment is effective immediately.
