Tinubu: Insecurity Challenges in North Will Soon Be Overcome

President Bola Tinubu expressed confidence that Nigeria's security challenges, especially in the northern region, will soon be overcome. Speaking at the Third General Hassan Usman Katsina Memorial Lecture in Kaduna, Tinubu, represented by his Special Adviser Ibrahim Masari, stated that his administration has put in place decisive measures to combat criminal groups nationwide.

Tinubu paid tribute to the late General Hassan Usman Katsina, describing him as a symbol of humility, discipline, and patriotism. He highlighted Katsina's significant role in promoting national unity and strengthening Nigeria during critical historical periods, laying the foundation for the country's current democracy.

While we continue to work day and night to secure our nation, by the grace of Allah, the challenges of insecurity confronting us, particularly in Northern Nigeria, will soon be behind us.

Meanwhile, Professor Ango Abdullahi, Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, lamented the decline of the North's traditional values. He argued that the region's current struggles with insecurity, poverty, and underdevelopment stem from a departure from the principles of its founding leaders. "The North has lost its values," Abdullahi stated, warning that the region would not be in its current state if it had retained the virtues of honesty, sacrifice, and patriotism.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, also called for divine intervention, praying for the true repentance of individuals involved in perpetrating evil within the country.
