Tinubu Lauds Troops For Neutralising Bandit Kingpin, Ibrahim Bastuji

President Bola Tinubu has lauded the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for their successful operation in Kogi State, which resulted in the elimination of notorious bandit kingpin Ibrahim Bastuji. The President described the operation as a significant blow to criminal networks terrorizing communities in Kogi and neighboring states.

Tinubu noted that Bastuji's reign of violence, kidnapping, and attacks on civilians had caused immense hardship. He expressed confidence that his neutralization will restore confidence and provide respite for residents. "I congratulate our gallant troops on this decisive milestone. Nigeria will not surrender any part of its territory to criminals. Those who choose the path of violence against innocent citizens will find no hiding place," Tinubu stated.

The President also commended the troops for the successful rescue of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, the widow of the late former Chief of Defence Information, General Rabe Abubakar (rtd). He highlighted this rescue as a demonstration of high professionalism and determination to confront forces of evil. "The safe return of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar is a source of relief to her family and to all Nigerians," he added, commending the intelligence, coordination, and bravery involved.

Reassuring Nigerians, Tinubu affirmed the government's commitment to providing the Armed Forces with necessary resources, training, and support to end banditry, kidnapping, and all forms of violent crimes. He urged citizens to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing timely information and support.
