Tinubu Loyalist Urges End to Politicizing National Security

Khamis Musa Darazo, a prominent supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has issued a strong appeal to political leaders and interest groups across Nigeria to cease politicizing national security matters. Darazo stressed that the nation's ongoing security challenges, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping, demand a unified national effort and steadfast commitment rather than divisive partisan distractions.

In a statement made available to journalists, Darazo highlighted that under President Tinubu's "Renewed Hope Agenda," security operations have achieved notable successes. These include intensified offensives against criminal elements, the rescue of kidnapped victims, the recovery of arms and ammunition, and an overall improvement in security across many regions of the country.

Darazo specifically commended General Christopher Gwabin Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, for his professionalism, dedication, and commitment to Nigeria's security. He described Musa as a patriotic leader whose efforts have significantly contributed to the ongoing successes in combating insecurity. "National security should never be reduced to partisan politics. This is the time for all well-meaning Nigerians to rally behind those working tirelessly to defend our country," Darazo stated.

He further noted that the improving security situation is gradually restoring public confidence, stimulating economic activities, supporting agricultural production, and fostering a more conducive environment for investment and national development. Darazo urged political actors to exercise restraint in their public discourse on security matters, prioritizing national interest above political considerations. He also called on Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible and timely information, emphasizing that lasting peace can only be achieved through united national efforts.
