Tinubu mourns Emir of Zurmi

President Bola Tinubu has mourned the death of Alhaji Bello Sulaiman, the Emir of Zurmi, who died on Monday, five years after ascending the throne.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu offered condolences to the late monarch’s family, the Zurmi Emirate Council, the Zamfara State Government and people, and traditional institutions across Nigeria.

The president described Sulaiman as a respected ruler who led with wisdom, dignity and commitment during a difficult period. He said the emir showed courage while guiding the Zurmi Emirate through security challenges and promoting peace, unity and resilience among its people.

“His Royal Highness was a stabilising figure whose wise counsel and dedication to peace-building were invaluable not only to Zurmi Emirate but to Zamfara State and our nation’s efforts to restore lasting peace in the North-West,” Tinubu said.

Tinubu prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and reward for the late monarch, as well as comfort and strength for his family, the emirate and others mourning his death.
