Tinubu’s performance deserves re-election, says Presidency

Nigeria's Presidency has declared that President Bola Tinubu is deserving of re-election in 2027, citing the administration's economic reforms and nationwide infrastructure development as key achievements. This assertion directly counters opposition claims that the President has accomplished nothing during his term.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Special Duties, Tunde Rahman, stated during a tour of federal and state infrastructure projects in Nasarawa State that "Anybody that has done well deserves to come back again." He pointed to "iconic road projects" and "interventions in healthcare" as evidence of the gains from Tinubu's reforms. Rahman argued that initial difficulties associated with these reforms have given way to tangible benefits, which are now visible across the country.

We have seen iconic road projects. We have seen interventions in healthcare. We have seen bridges, both by the Federal Government and the state governments. And it bears restating to say that what we have seen are part of the gains of reforms undertaken by President Bola Tinubu.

Rahman, who also serves as the Director of Media and Publicity for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, dismissed the opposition's criticisms as "denial in the face of evidence." He noted that both Nasarawa State Governor Sule and Benue State Governor Alia have credited federal fiscal reforms for their increased capacity to undertake projects. "Both governors have been very unanimous in stating that they were able to do what they did because the Federal Government reforms have freed resources to them, and they have more fiscal space to perform," Rahman said.

Forget about the remonstration of the opposition, who continue to claim that Mr President has not done anything, seeing is believing.

Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Print Media, echoed Rahman's sentiments, describing the inspected projects as "lasting legacies of the Tinubu administration." He emphasized that these are not temporary fixes but substantial developments that signify a "revolution" in public infrastructure. The Presidency is appealing to Nigerians to let the President's record, particularly the visible infrastructure improvements, guide their choices in the next election.
