Following his victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary, securing the party's ticket for the 2027 general election, President Bola Tinubu has extended an olive branch to his critics. Having reportedly garnered a substantial 10.9 million votes, Tinubu stressed the importance of cooperation with all segments of society, particularly his political opponents, to foster national unity and progress.

In his acceptance speech after receiving his Certificate of Return in Abuja, Tinubu addressed the nation's security challenges, vowing to intensify efforts to eliminate threats and ensure the restoration of peace and stability. He pledged that his administration would not relent in safeguarding the lives and properties of all Nigerians, acknowledging the responsibility that comes with leadership.

Tinubu articulated a vision of democracy that embraces diversity and dialogue, stating, "To those who may disagree with us politically, we extend a hand of partnership in nation-building.
